  • In the QuickBooks Automated Password Reset Tool tab, the first option that you will get will be of the version of the QB desktop that you have last used for opening your company file. But one thing that you will need to know here is that this tool works only for the QB desktop version 2008 or later. Along with this, the version that you will be entering needs to be installed on the device that you will be using for accessing your password.

  • If you are not aware of which version of QB you are using then you will simply need to press CTRL+1 or you can also press simply F2. This will make a product info pop up to appear on your screen. After that, you will just have to locate the version you are using by using the file header. Below it, you will find different types of codes. If the code is showing V24 then it means that you are using QuickBooks version 2014 and the same goes for all other versions as well.

  • Now, you will need to enter your QB business info and you will also need to enter your license number as well. When you are done with these, then you will have to click on Submit. But make sure that all the data that you have entered must match with the information available in the Intuit system, even your email address. The email address that you have entered will get an email with the access token and that’s why making sure that you have entered the right information is very necessary.

  • Then click on the license agreement and press Download. On the next screen, you will have to click on Download Now.

  • After that, you will have to open the QBPasswordReset.exe file that you have downloaded in order to use the password reset tool.
