  • Click on File in the menu bar
  • Then select Utilities and then Condense data
  • Go through the wizard and choose the option which you need. You can also click on Help if you need any assistance
  • Now select the lists which you want to remove. You can run the Condense data if your company file is almost to list limit. Selecting lists allow you to keep some lists while removing others.
  • If you have any second thoughts then the Begin Condense button is your last chance. Once you click this button then there is no way of stopping it until it gets finished. Even if you abort the process, your data file will be damaged.

Get rid of heavy sized QB files


You can also reduce the size of the company file in QB up to 20% by running the Clean Up Company data utility. It helps you to get rid of heavy sized QB files. Follow the below- mentioned steps to run the Clean Up Company data utility:
  • Click on the File in the menu bar
  • Then select Utilities
  • After that select and click on Clean Up Company Data

Switching off automatic updates

  • In the Help menu, select Update QuickBooks
  • Now click on the Option tab
  • In the Automatic Update section, click on No
  • Click on Close, and then on Ok

Compress QuickBooks data files

You can easily compress the QuickBooks data files by running the Rebuild Data Utility. Follow the steps mentioned below:
  • Click on Files in the menu bar
  • Select Utilities
  • Then click on Rebuild Data option
You can also verify the successful data rebuild by following these steps:
  • Click on Files in the menu bar
  • Choose Utilities
  • And then click on Verify
