Adding comments in QuickBooks
QuickBooks is the most famous and popular accounting software in the field of finance. Intuit has designed the software in such a way that it fits like a glove into the accounting needs of small and medium-sized businesses, accountants, bookkeepers, and CPAs.
There are several editions and versions of QuickBooks with each having its own uniqueness and functionality. So, you can choose from the different options of accounting software in the QB category and make your accounting a cinch.

Other than advance inventory, tax filing, and different automated tools, the reports generated through QuickBooks are quite useful and in this blog post, we will learn a little bit more about the reports like adding comments to it and the easiest way to combine two reports.

Adding Comments in QuickBooks
Follow the below mentioned steps in order to add comments, concerns and annotations to reports.
  • First of all, open the report and then click on the Comment on Report button
  • Now in the window of Comment on Report
  • Choose the speech bubble which is situated next to the field you want to annotate.
  • Now in the comment box, enter your annotation.
  • Click on discard to cancel the comment and click on Save to confirm the comment.
  • Click on the pencil icon in order to save a previously saved comment and click on X to delete it.
  • Then click on Save and then enter the name of the report.
  • Click on Ok
  • In order to print or email the report, you can use the Print and Email button.

Accessing Commented Reports
If you wish to access the commented reports, you will have to go to the Reports and then click on Commented Reports. Now inside the commented Reports window, you can edit the name assigned to the reports, remove it from the list and do a lot of other things such as printing and emailing.

Combining Reports from Two or more Company Files
You can combine the following reports in QuickBooks
  • Balance sheet standard
  • Profit and Loss standard
  • Profit and Loss by class
  • Statement of Cash Flows
  • Trial Balance
  • Balance sheet summary

Follow these Steps in Order to Combine Two Reports
  • Choose Combine Reports from Multiple in the QuickBooks Reports Menu
  • Now click on Add Files, locate the other company file and then click on Open. Repeat this process if you have additional files.
  • Then from the select reports for combining sections, select the reports for which you want to see combined information.
  • After that, fill the From and To date range so that you set the report date range.
  • Finally, click on Combine Reports in Excel. After this, the combined information will be opened in the form of Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.

Note – You can also use third-party software which offered in the Intuit Marketplace. These third-party software solutions produce combined reports from multiple companies data file.
